St Michael’s Lodge Donates £1,000 to Rosemere Cancer Foundation

Members of St Michaels on Wyre Masonic Lodge 8348 have donated £1,000 to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

The donation was presented by outgoing Worshipful Master Eddie Parkinson. Mr Parkinson chose to support Rosemere Cancer Foundation during his year in office as a cause close to a number of members’ hearts for treatment they, family members or friends have received at Rosemere Cancer Centre or one of the other local hospital cancer units supported by the charity.

Funds were raised throughout the year culminating in donations to local causes including Rosemere, Garstang Scout and Guides and Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team to name but three.

Amy Hilton, marketing and digital manager for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, who accepted the lodge’s donation on behalf of the charity, said: “Our thanks to Mr Parkinson and all lodge members for this fantastic donation. It really means a lot us and will go towards projects that will also mean a lot to local cancer patients.”

Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria being treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre, the region’s specialist cancer treatment and radiotherapy centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, and also at another eight local hospital cancer units across the two counties, including that at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

The charity funds cutting-edge equipment, clinical research, staff training and innovative services and initiatives that the NHS cannot afford in order to make patients’ cancer journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free.
