FREEMASONS AND CHARITY

Freemasons make a major contribution to society through their own charities as well as through donations to UK charities and worldwide disaster relief funds with our members playing an active role in their communities. Every hospice in the country benefits annually from our donations.

Kindness and charitable giving are deeply ingrained within the principles of Freemasonry.

The organisation provides a support structure that helps members make positive contributions to communities and worthwhile causes through fundraising events or voluntary work.

Thanks to the efforts of members Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable givers in the country – but Freemasons don’t only donate money, they also give millions of hours of volunteer work throughout the country each year.

Locally St Michael’s-on Wyre Lodge has in recent years donated more than £40,000 to Prostate Cancer Research and over £33,000 to the Burns Unit of Royal Preston Hospital as well as support for the Alzheimers Society, MIND and many other local charities and good causes.
